Description

Using specially adapted 4 x 4 vehicles with informative safari guides you head out for 6 days staying in classic tented lodges and mobile camps to afford you the very best positions for game viewing. By flying out of the Serengeti you also save unwanted drive time that is spent game viewing instead! In 6 days this itinerary is a must for those that want to see the Serengeti as well as the other fantastic destinations the 3 day itinerary has to offer.

In Detail

DAY 1
TARANGIRE

After breakfast your guide briefs you on your adventure head before you head on to Tarangire National Park armed with picnic lunches. Tarangire is home to a wide variety of game from elephant to leopard and rolling hills dotted with ancient baobab trees. A fantastic introduction to game in East Africa. In the late afternoon you head to a picturesque tented lodge for dinner.

DAY 2
LAKE MANYARA

After breakfast you head out to Lake Manyara National Park with picnic lunches. Famous for it's tree climbing lions and elephant populations, Manyara has a wide array of habitats from open plains to cool ground water forest. In the late afternoon you head up to your lodge for dinner.

DAY 3
NGORONGORO

Today an early start is required to head into the world famous Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Famed for it's dramatic game filled crater, today is ideal for game viewing and excellent photography. In the afternoon you head back out of the 2000 feet deep crater back to your lodge for dinner.

DAY 4
SERENGETI

The finale of this safari are the endless plains of the Serengeti. A vast eco system that continues into Kenya and is contiguous with the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the Serengeti offers a huge variety of experiences. On route we stop off at the Cradle of Mankind - Olduvai Gorge. Here work started by the Leakey family continues today as a fossil history dating back millions of years continues to be explored. From here we game drive our way into our mobile camp for the evening.

DAY 5
SERENGETI

Despite being a mobile camp that moves seasonally for the best game experiences, our classic safari accommodation is remarkably comfortable and a perfect home for our last two nights. Set in the seasonally best places we head out for game drives to search for a variety of predators and other fauna that the Serengeti has to offer. There are also a range of habitats to Kopje (rock outcroppings) dotted plains to thick wood lands and hippo pools. A full day is spent exploring and game driving.

DAY 6
SERENGETI / DEPART

In the morning we head out for a final game drive on the way to the airport where we say a fond farewell to our guides before catching the schedule flight to Arusha. Here we are met and have time for some retail therapy before heading to a well appointed lodge for a day to freshen up and re pack pre departure. Connections can also be arranged to onward destinations such as Zanzibar, Western or Southern Tanzania or even further afield.
